On Friday night Paul and I made homemade ham and pineapple pizza and ate the whole thing while we watched basketball on our computer. Then we went to A&W to get cones. Then we went to a friend's place and played Magic the Gathering, Kinect, and that game where you say things that you have never done and if someone in the group has actually done it then they lose a point. Do you know that game?
On Saturday we slept in. Then Paul made chocolate chip pancakes and I made maple syrple and wow it was sugary and delicious. Then we went to a Boy Scout yard sale and chatted and purchased a file cabinet for $5 that I am going to use to file my music once Paul sands it down and spray paints it the color of my choice. Then we went to the mall because Macy's was having a sale. It turns out there isn't even a Macy's at our mall but we shopped anyway. Paul got 2 new ties and a new dress shirt and I bought 2 pairs of shoes and we were both very pleased. Then we came home and watched an 80's chick flick with John Cusack called Say Anything. 80's. Then we thought about going bowling but decided to go visit the frozen yogurt place that just opened on Knickerbocker because we like ice cream more than anything. This is basically the only frozen yogurt place in San Angelo, which is sad because in Provo there is one on practically every corner. We got a punch card, and we'll be going back. Then we decided that we wanted to go play tennis even though it was incredibly windy. It was the most interesting tennis game we've ever played because because of the wind the ball seemed to have a mind of its own. Paul beat me 4-6. Then we came home and worked on lessons for Sunday while we watched some Law and Order: SVU.
On Sunday we prepared some awesome sweet and sour pork in our crock pot before we went to church at 11:00. Paul wore his new clothes, and looked spiffy, and I wore an old dress but got complimented twice. Sacrament went long (which is awesome because usually we end 10-15 minutes early) and the high councilman that spoke did a very nice job. I got to do sharing time and it went really well, and Paul only had one sunbeam. After church we stayed for a primary teacher training and when we finally got home we vented about all of the things we dislike about things pertaining to primary and scouts in our ward. Our pork was delicious and we ate it with chopsticks. Then we took a long nap and it felt wonderful. Then we made oatmeal molasses chocolate chip cookies and ate some dough while we watched Ponyo. Then we called our parents. Then we talked, Paul finished an assignment, and I played EveryWord on our kindle. Then we went to sleep and the weekend was over.

Miveos
I still love watching movies! and we finally got some good ones from Netflix. Does anyone else get peeved when you have a movie at the top of your queue and it says "long wait" by it, so it doesn't come for two months?? That's what happened with us and The Social Network (which I really liked a lot).
Easy A. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie. I knew it was loosely based on The Scarlet Letter, which I read (at least the first half!) in high school, and I was a little skeptical. Mostly because Emma Stone reminds me of Lindsay Lohan. But as it turns out, it was an okay watch. The main character's parents were super funny and I always like me some love story that's full of cheese. :D
Red. Um, which ridiculous action comedy was this? I feel like I've seen a lot of movies like this one lately (The Other Guys, Die Hard, The A-team, Knight and Day). This was just as good.
Despicable Me. Hehe I loved this movie. Paul and I saw it in the theaters when it came out way back when and there were some older Hispanic ladies sitting in front of us. They, and their daughters, laughed heartily at everything funny, and it made it even more enjoyable. Anyways, we got it again from Netflix and, even without those ladies, I still thought it was great.
Get Low. Based on a true story about a man who decides to plan his own funeral party so that he can attend. It was nice and slow. Paul and I both really liked it and highly recommend it.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Ummm, this was interesting. I'm not really a video-gamer in the first place so some of the references went way over my head. It was pretty silly to start anyways and even though the effects were new and creative, I wasn't very impressed with the movie overall.
Megamind. Not the best children's movie out there, but worth a see.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Being quite unfamiliar with the original Indiana Jones movies I felt a little behind during this one. Paul says it followed all the rules of the old ones (whatever rules there might be) but I thought it was poorly done and hardly exciting.
Amazing Grace. This movie was great! It came out a few years ago and is about the abolition of the slave trade in Great Britain. Let's just say I was really glad that I got around to seeing it.
The Adjustment Bureau. One of the newer movies out there. We all know how I love Matt Damon. Okay, maybe we all didn't know that, but now we do. I thought he and Emily Blunt did an awesome job with the script. The romance had some very endearing qualities and their dialogue was pretty funny. BUT I actually thought the main plot turned out kind of stupid. There was some running and chasing and all, but it just felt kind of disjointed. So yeah, it was pretty shallow, but not horrible.
Forever Strong. Finally got around to seeing this movie about Highland, UT rugby. I'd heard that it was good and after watching it I agree.
Anyone seen anything good lately that they can recommend?

Rooms
Here are some more rooms in my house.
The kitchen is long and narrow, complete with an oven/stove and a fridge. We have finally comes to terms with the no dishwasher thing. We have a large eating area and it is usually pretty bright because of the windows. The door with the ugly white-ish drapes goes to the laundry room.
And below you will find our wonderful office with our new ... well everything! New (used) chair, desk, computer, table, sewing machine, ironing board (yes we just barely got one). I like this room. And you can see a little bit of the back seat of our car in the bottom left corner. :)
We really like our house and all of our rooms. We are excited to move though. The job-drop happens next Monday, so we should find out in about a month where we are going to go next!

And thank goodness for a laundry room. I love having a washer and dryer! We bought these used but they work great and they were a steal! The doorway on the right leads to our used-to-be-a-garage/third bedroom/useless space with a ton of boxes and storage. The door on the left leads to the back patio and backyard.

Ducks
The other day Paul and I took a walk along the river.
We swung on swings,
and took pictures.
But mostly we watched the ducks go crazy and fed them moldy hamburger buns.
I particulary like the ducks at :21 and :27 and :40-ish.
It was windy.

Texas Tacky
Last weekend Paul and I went to a Texas Independence Day BBQ Cook-Off. We didn't really know what to do or where to go when we got there. There were campers and BBQs set up everywhere, but nobody and nothing to tell us what to do or where to go. Eventually we ran into our friend Shera and she told us that she was volunteering as a food judge. "Sign us up!" we said. It turned out that we were right on time for the BBQ ribs judging! Score. We got to sample and judge 16 different kinds of hot BBQ ribs. It was awesome and delicious. Them Texans know what to do with their meat!
After the judging we wandered around and found a guy who was selling tacky Texas-themed decor and gadgets. We have been looking for something like this for a while so we had to buy them: three decorative, metal, only-found-in-Texas ... uh, what do you even call these?
And we put them up in our living room.

Bike
Once upon a time, my big brother built me a bike. I loved the bike my big brother built but one day my bike was stolen. I was very sad and so was my big brother. Then, I married a man. This man knew I missed my bike and decided to build me a new one. Well, at least "restore" one. The problem was this new bike was old! The inside was rusty and greasy. He had to clean it out. He was making my new old bike new! And I took pictures.
Paul's been working on this bike since before we were married. He painted it green and yellow and even detailed my name on it. But I really haven't been able to ride it yet. The bike has an internal hub and it hadn't been cleaned out in a long time. Now it is clean! Paul's still working on making the bike 100% rideable, but I don't mind. It gave me a chance to play with the focus on my camera. :) And also, Picnik is cool.
