Dave + Jess

So, my big brother got married on September the 23rd at McMenamin's Cornelius Pass Roadhouse in Hillsboro, Oregon.  Here are some pictures of the big day:

I didn't take very many pictures of the bride and groom, but the wedding was beautiful, David's vows were precious, and the dancing was crazy fun.

The next day we took a family trip to the coast, ate at Mo's, played on the beach, and successfully wore out Mckenna.

I love home.

My little sister got married last week!

  

I decided to fly to Oregon early in the week so I could have sister time with Annie before the groom and other guests arrived.  Who knows when we'll have sister time again?  Although, we actually never did our crazy bathroom ritual, but maybe we're past that phase being all married and stuff.  Anyways.

We went shopping at the outlet mall, got our nails done, talked about boys, had a sleepover (kinda), went to the temple, and helped finish up all of the wedding preparations.  It was lovely.

On the wedding day Jess and I took Annie to get her hair done up and helped her with her make-up.  Then off to the temple we went!  The ceremony was great, pretty cute actually, and I managed to hold back the tears.  The reception was beautiful, too, and they both looked so happy!

Paul and I got married on November 21st at 2:00 pm in the Portland Oregon temple. We had a small family gathering the night before the wedding to mingle and chat with friends and relatives who traveled in. The day of I woke up happily at 9:00 am, surprisingly without any nerves, showered, and drove to my hair appointment with Annie and Jess, who later did my make-up. By then it was off to the temple. I wasn't nervous until Paul's Grandpa (our sealer) led us into the room. As the ceremony went on, nerves turned into pure joy and then tears tears tears. I was so happy (still am) that I got to marry Paul forever. After all was said and done, and official, we made our way outside for picture time. Lucky for us it didn't rain one bit!

Our reception was at Hayden's in Tualatin at 6:00. It was perfect too. We had a full dinner buffet, which was delicious. And even though the cake was leaning, it was delicious too!

The next day we headed to Hawaii for our honeymoon.

Love Oregon

After being home in Tualatin for only 4 days, I am reminded why I love it in Oregon so much. Here are just a few reasons that I have been reminded of . . . in no particular order:

1. No Sales Tax - I got my hair cut really short on Wednesday. Since I now have hairs that won't fit up in my pony-tail, I decided that I needed to buy some hair clips. Annie and I made our way to ULTA (our new favorite beauty supply store) and I had only 8 dollars cash with me. I found some clips that I liked, but then stood calculating weather or not $3.00 and $4.50 would cost me more than eight dollars. Finally it hit me: I'm in Oregon. THERE'S NO SALES TAX! Overjoyed, I headed up to the counter, handed her my 8 dollars, and walked out of the store with 2 quarters. Hallelujah.
2. The Woodburn Outlet Mall - Not only does Oregon NOT have sales tax, it does have my absolute favorite shopping center. Guaranteed, 2/3 of my wardrobe is from the Woodburn Outlet mall. It is here where I find my favorite place to shop, Banana Republic, as well as a new favorite, Clavin Klein, and places like Leggs, Aeropostale, and Gap. All at cheap outlet prices. With no tax.
3. Decent drivers - need I say more than that?
4. The smell - when I got home on Tuesday night and stepped out of the car, I could smell it: the Douglas fir, evergreen, pine, and all over WET smell that is Oregon. Yumm.
   
5. The green - Like I said, the trees smell great . . . they look even better. I love looking out my window and seeing a forest of trees. I love pulling up next to a tree in a parking lot. I love driving on a freeway lined with trees. Trees trees trees.
   
6. The rain/weather - I love rain. Rain means softer hair, fresher air, moisture in my skin, and puddles. It also means that it is not cold enough to snow. Bonus.
   
7. HOME and FAMILY - Self explanatory :)

I am so glad that I will be back here in just 3 weeks.
